Q: Why is there a distinct color change on parts of my shirt after dry cleaning?
A: Color loss problems can sometimes occur on professionally laundered polyester and polyester/cotton blend shirts. This typically happens because the dye cannot withstand the temperature of a commercial press. Since most dress shirts are brought in for laundry, one might want to ask about dry cleaning their more expensive dress shirts so they stay looking new.
